Sprucestone Ranch has seen so many babies this year! Our third year on the farm has bern the best yet. The garden and bees are thriving and life is feeling the balance and harmony here. We've seen baby skunks, finches, starlings, robins, and dove babies. We also have the honor to observe a beautiful heron we've seen migrate near us every year to lay her babies. So amazing to observe the beauty around us. We are so grateful and feel honored to have witnessed all this beauty and abundance.

Our journey with beekeeping started three years ago. We moved to the farm in 2020, and my intuition was saying...we need to learn to keep bees. The universe said, yes you do! Our landlord was a beekeeper! She gave us our first two hives. This became my new homework, learn all things bees and pronto. Thank you universe for this gift! Now fast foward to 2023. My husband and i have learned so much. We have caught bee swarms from trees, lost hives, and dealt with dead queens. But the thing i love most about beekeeping is observing them work. Its the most amazing dance of duty and honor to the queen and colony. Defend til the end. Ive been stung twice in the 3 years and dont blame them at all. My first time i got stung was on my thumb while performing a hive check without gloves. That day i found out i am moderatly allergic to bees! The second was a sting to the throat. I was wearing black (big mistake) and probably looked like a bear. We made it thru each time, epi pen free! But i still love the bees, being around them and oberving them. The most beautiful dance to watch.
